Material Synthesis For Lunar Regolith Adhesion and Abrasion Detection Using Advanced Coating Materials

Abstract

This study investigates the adhesive and abrasive properties of lunar regolith on various coating materials, with potential applications for the Rashid Rover 2 lunar exploration mission. Four aluminum strips coated with different materials—FeCu alloy, graphene, titanium dioxide (TiO2), and uncoated aluminum as a control. The experiment aims to quantify and compare the adhesion levels and abrasive effects of lunar dust on these materials, providing crucial data for optimizing the design and material selection of lunar rovers and other space exploration equipment. this paper will highlight the material properties and material synthesis process.
